Competition winning tea in a style that is bold, rich, and unique for Taiwan. Notes of leather, amber, and luscious cherry.
Notes of leather, amber, dark wood, cherry pit, and fermented fruit.
This delicious tea was acquired before it won a 2019 black tea competition in Nantou, Taiwan. Since then, it has become too expensive to import. It has incredible qualities of a wild tea: fresh, slightly sweet, funky, wild and vibrant tasting.
This tea comes from Shan Lin Xi, an area known primarily for its high-mountain lightly roasted oolongs. Finding a high elevation black tea from this region is a treat. Fragrant, luscious, high mountain qualities pair beautifully with the full oxidation that makes this a black tea (hong cha). This Spring harvest tea has golden buds that add sweetness to the final brew.
Brew this black tea with 195 degree water for 90 seconds. Add 30 seconds to the infusion time with each brewing.
